New Police Sergeant Sworn In

FRANKFORT, IL, SEPTEMBER 23, 2021 –

At the September 20, 2021 meeting of the Village Board, Officer Kevin Lanz took the oath of office to become the newest Police Sergeant for the Village of Frankfort.  Kevin was recently promoted to the position of Sergeant by the Frankfort Police Commission. 

Lanz began his career in law enforcement back in 2000 as a patrol officer after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Business Administration from Winona State University.  In his 21 years with the Frankfort Police Department, Lanz held many appointed positions including Field Training Officer, Officer in Charge, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Taser Instructor, and K-9 Officer.  Kevin has been recognized for his leadership and performance in the line of duty and has received life-saving awards and a meritorious service medal.

Sergeant Lanz resides in the Lincoln-Way area with his wife and two children.
