December 22, 2020 – At its December 21, 2020 meeting, the Village Board passed an ordinance accepting the terms of the Purchase and Sale Agreement for the sale of 1 N White Street to BoKAY Flowers, LLC in the amount of $325,000.00.
The property, located just north of the Trolley Barn, was listed for sale by the Village for $300,000.00 in October 2020. Proposals were submitted by BoKAY Flowers, LLC for $325,000 and Great Space, LLC for $300,000. Both proposals were reviewed and discussed at the Economic Development Committee meetings December 9 and December 14. Members considered how each proposal would fit into the overall charm and character of the commercial core of downtown Frankfort. It was the consensus of the Economic Development Committee to forward a recommendation to the Village Board to enter into a Purchase and Sale Agreement with BoKAY Flowers, LLC.
“BoKAY Flowers plans to significantly expand their home décor items within their floral design business. They intend to become a very active addition to Frankfort’s downtown shopping experience,” commented Mayor Jim Holland. “We thank the Morgan family, the owners of BoKAY, for their investment in our community, and we thank the Cartolano family for also making a proposal to purchase the property. Both families are local residents. Both families have invested significantly in our downtown, and we thank both of them for their continued interest in making Frankfort the best it can be.”
